  2. Just finished reading book 7. Structurally speaking, it was a well put together murder mystery. Excellent stuff. My main concern, though is power creep. It'd be nice to have a more grounded and down-to-earth story moving forward.

The series felt like it went off the rails in book 5, with him suddenly visiting a high tech alien planet telepathic space elves, and fighting his way through a time paradox. In the back after that, he's task with hunting down a rogue, unauthorized, government-made clone of himself running amok. It felt like things were getting back on track. Now though...

The MC's an Incarnate? A god-like being responsible for propping up the laws of physical reality lest it devolve into literal, universe cracking chaos? Come on! We just saw him forcibly drafted as a trainee for the a black-ops organization tasked with safeguarding the free world from corrupt supers. That would've been a great story arch: reluctant hero, fish out of water, coming of age, political intrigue, grounded and worldly stakes. Now the power creep has been turned up way past 11 and the stakes are cosmic and trans-dimensional.

It feels like things are so off the rails that next we'll see him hopping into parallel universes and uniting a team of his parallel selves with which to save all of reality, or the multiverse or something. I'd like the friendly neighborhood Kid Sensation with the secret crash pad, hunting bounties in disguise back, please. Or the Kid sensation worried about his teenage love life. Or the Kid Sensation learning the ropes of being an Alpha League cadet. Or especially the Kid Sensation being involuntarily drafted into a men-in-black style organization with a malfunctioning sense of morality, tasked with policing supers by any means necessary.

Those sound way more compelling than reality bending, time warping Kid Sensation who can destroy planets with the flick of his fingers or alter history with a bucket of shiny magic rocks in a special room of an extradimensional fortress for literal gods.

  3. LOL. Sorry - I had to laugh at the nod to "Into the Spider-Verse." With that out the way, let me first say that I appreciate you sharing your view on the series with me. I love it when readers are open with their thoughts. Looking over what you've said, now is probably a good time to share what a couple of other readers have already picked up on: there's an overarching storyline, and some of the things you've mentioned tie into that. I'm not going to give too much away, but I hope you'll stick around for the rest of the ride.

  4. It is currently 5:30 in the morning and I just finished reading the book. I thought this was one of the best out of the series yet and couldn’t stop myself from reading it in one sitting. It is amazing that you can produce such quality content while being pretty quick as well. The only thing I can ask is please don’t keep us waiting and make the next one as many pages as possible so I can enjoy it even longer! Any updates on the next book(s) no matter how small are greatly appreciated.

    1. Thanks - glad you enjoyed it. The next book is second in the current queue. I can't give a definite release date because much depends on how quickly my editor can get to it once I finish. As to book length, I usually don't set out with a particular page count in mind. As I've mentioned before, the stories pretty much tell themselves and I'm simply taking dictation, so I honestly don't have an idea of how long any particular book will be until I'm well into it (e.g., I was as shocked as anyone that "Replication" weighed in at 500 pages - that was way more that I'd ever contemplated, but that's how it worked out.) That said, I happy to hear that readers want more in terms my stories, whether it be more books or more pages.

    1. You're too kind with your compliments, but they are greatly appreciated.

Book 8 is in the hands of my editor at this very moment. If I'm very lucky, I might be able to get it published this month. More than likely, however, it will be released the first week of May.
