"He's Dead, Jim..."

This is just for kicks and grins, but I somehow got onto the subject of catchphrases with my kids and decided to give them a perfect example of one: Dr. McCoy's famous - and famously parodied - line from the series Star Trek: "He's dead, Jim."   And it's perfectly captured in the clip below.

Frankly speaking, no matter how many times I watch this, it's still hilarious.  I often wonder if the writers would have changed that line if they could have seen into the future.  Regardless, I think it's great that their work gets to entertain us on two fronts: a show that's still fun to watch almost 50 years later, and a memorable catchphrase that's likely to live forever.

    1. "He's still dead, Jim..." :>)

But assuming you're talking about Revelation, I have it back from my editor and am doing my post-editorial read-through. Assuming I can wrap that up quickly and get it to my formatting guy (who hopefully doesn't have a lot of stuff in the queue), I'm thinking I can get it published in about a week or so.

    2. Glad to hear it. Also, thanks for the video, it was rather amusing. I've always been a big fan of the characters of ST:TOS even if I wasn't as fond of the show itself. I'm more of a TNG/DS9 fan. But it was fun to look back at it and realize how much TOS has pervaded our culture.

  4. You're not going to publish more than one book this year if you Continue with this Speed. In light of your January Blog Post i feel a little betrayed that you actually got slower.

    1. This is a tricky subject. I certainly can't take issue with your position regarding the recent pace of my publishing, so I will simply say that I'm doing my best to have a strong finish for the rest of the year.

    2. Keep going at whatever pace you are comfortable with man. I'd rather see 1-2 great novels from you this year instead of a bunch of rushed ones.
